A jury convicted appellant, Willie Simmons, of two counts of capital murder following the deaths of Leonora McClendon and Cheri Johnson and recommended that Simmons be put to death on both counts. The trial court sentenced Simmons to death in accordance with the jurys recommendation. Our jurisdiction is founded on Article V, section 3, Missouri Constitution, which places exclusive appellate jurisdiction in this Court "in all cases where the punishment imposed is death."
